    Mindless Abyss

    Away in a prison cell
    A restless heart lies
Confined less by the concrete walls
Than his constant reminder of his downfalls

    Away in a prison cell
    A guilty conscience lingers
    Consumed by inner confliction
    Through the pain of self-conviction

    Away in a prison cell
    A broken soul searhes
    Torn by sin within
    Never which did heart intend

    Away in a prison cell
    A helpless life is yearning
    Longing for the warm embrace
    Of freedom's long lost face

Ah, now you are not alone in that prison cell for you have left the readers a key to your inner thoughts and existence. Great flow of themed thought, I felt it could have gone on - however the poet always knows the right ending! Write ON!

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
