Mirror Image
Poem by Alexis Polykarpov
2009 poem

Mirrors flip images
they can be so strange
In a way nothings the same
Not people
Not hot dogs
Not love
Not qualities
Not mirrors
Not people's lives

I see another me
In the mirror looking back
Is it real?
I ask myself this
The answer is no
It's a virtual image
Standing alone
Also known as a mirror image

The image is flipped
It's one of those different things
No image is the exact same image of you or anyone
Nobody, even twins, don't look exactly the same

Mirror images are not exactly like you
Close but not exact
Nothing is
So, this me I see is different
Some times you can not tell
How do you tell?
It's an image that is how
