    Nature's Love Song

    Birds cheerfully sing my song

    Floating over pastel orchards throng

    Murmuring through green fields

    Joyous dew increases the yields

Of damp woods and swampland thickets

Winter’s last gasp gives way to crickets

    Music of new, refreshing possibilities.

    Lyrics for every renewed occasion

    Spanning the chorus of creation

Busy songs build dawn to noon

    Leisurely strains melt into afternoon

    Twilight’s dusky timpani tune

Lonesome notes to a midnight moon

    Not meant for burgeoning humanities.

    Cadence unique to the listener

Beats timed beauty to the petitioner

Warble of the bluebirds song of love

Carol of the Robin, coo of the Dove

    Chickadees, cardinals and finch perform

    Clear notes of sincerity inform

    Truthful, honest pleasurabilities.

All hearts tuned to the rhythm of joy

    Spring’s great chorus endlessly employ

Bird song, sunshine, starlight and ecstasy

    Bringing its yearly renewing fantasy

Of blended sounds in nature’s orchestra

Awakening nature’s voice to a hoorah

    Drawing Spring to sprightly temerities.
