One day as I sat lonely

In a life which filled me only,

With the gloom of day that only turned to night;

I came upon your vision,

Which helped in my decision

To let you give my life a little light.

Your eyes were bright as sunshine

And your smile…like mine, divine;

I could- but see the joy your spirit would bring;

You shared your heart with one kiss,

And you touched my life with kindness;

I knew right then I’d give you…anything.

Oh…my Soul! I dream of life now only with your smile.

Oh…my Soul! You’ve only been with me for a short while.

But I have known you always,

In those sad and lonely past days;

When I needed joy to lift my spirits up;

From…the life which came before you,

And the light which we all knew,

Would someday fill up any…joyful cup.

You’ve been with me some twenty-four years,

We’ve laughed together and shared our tears,

But never have we ever… been apart;

We’ve walked on roads, which led nowhere,

And shared our dreams…or sometimes fear,

Through words or just the inaudible sounds of our heart.

Oh…my Soul! In time I’ll leave this world but not your heart

Oh…my Soul! These words assure you I will never part,

For I love you more than life now

And my life will always show how

you came to be the one and only…Oh my Soul.
