Poem Commentary

This poem is telling how man is before he comes to know God, and how the devil blinds people so that they can not come to knowing the truth that can set them free.

Oh that he may know

Oh that he may know

The natural man as God calls him, has no clue

Of what it means to have Gods seed inside of you

Being born again, incorruptible seed that is new

Is what Colossians 1 means by Christ in you

These words are foolishness to him, but he is not at fault

For he can go no further than what he has been taught

The devil knows this truth sets men free

For he blinds their eyes by religious doctrine; so this man is unable to see

For when the truth is heard and understood

Mental shackles fall away, which is very good

Understanding enlightened, hearts ablaze

Fog lifted, no longer in a mental haze

Seeing clearly finally having a hope

Something he knew not of, just living to cope

But now free and walking with power

Giving thanks to God each and every hour

This is what he has longed for in the depth of his heart

To know why he is here, a purpose to guide his lost heart

Now seeing and walking with great joy

As a new child grows into a young boy

The Father is pleased and lets him know

By way of His word, how being faithful helps him grow

Earning rewards and speaking the truth in love

Seeing that Gods word does fit like a hand in a glove

So going on step by step and day by day

Studying and applying, learning to walk God’s way

No longer natural, but a true son

Accomplished for him; by God’s only begotten Son.

God bless

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
