Power of prayer

The Power of Prayer

Why does it always seem to be?
That the only time we pray is when we have a need?
While God is all around and ready with a listening ear
We let the desires of our hearts go out the door
Because of this little thing we know as fear.

We have been taught from an early age
That God has nothing but wrath and rage.
But when we take the time to look into the book
We see that that way of thinking came from the crook

He sits around with nothing to but plot and play
Whose desires is he going to steal away today?
That is his plan of attack and just his daily ploy
To come around and just steal, kill and destroy

But God Almighty is still our best chance
To have our need met and then we can dance
Because God so loved He loves to give
All the desires of our hearts and a way to live

When we come to God with no fear in our hearts
We see things happen because he blocks the darts
That wicked one has to flee when we have no fear
We just claim the promises in Gods word because they’re so dear

Because God is on the throne with the power to give
All we need to do is let go and live, live, live
It is ours to claim for it was with great price
That we can have Power in Prayer in the name of Jesus Christ

So true just as the book you spoke of. As a christian this has called to mind several scriptures that confirms these words. I enjoyed reading such an inspirational piece.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
