    Out Of Love

I was told it was out of love
At first I didn't believe it
    The secrets and the lies
    Betrayal, they could not hide

    Everyone knew, everyone but me
They said the time was not right
Right for what, right for who, I asked
    I should have been told
Still no one said a word, so I made my move

It was my turn, my turn to lie
    They left me no choice
    I thought I would die
    The words were hard
    And couldn't come out
So I asked the Lord, to please let me shout
So shout I did after I lied
I had to lie to get the truth
It wasn't easy, I felt weak
But I knew I had to be strong
    Be strong for the truth
    Because I had asked
So the truth was, again they said
    Was out of love

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
