You're very much in my heart
Everyday I ache to be near you
You're half a world away
Yet feel close by
But because we're separated by the ocean
I will never be the same
Your blood runs through me
We are bonded for life
You are my mother
And I am your daughter
Oh how I yearn to be near you
And don't want to be apart
But because we're separated by the ocean
It breaks my heart
When tragedy struck
I never left your side
I was your shadow
Day in and day out
As time became short and near
For me to leave your side
I dreaded thinking about the ocean
As beautiful as it is
A clear aqua blue
Knowing it would separate
Me and you
I will forever miss you
From the other side
