    PINK SLIP

I WAS GIVEN MY PINK SLIP EARLY TODAY
    SHE LOST ALL HER FEELINGS
    WAS ALL SHE COULD SAY
    SHE GOES ON WITH LIFE
    AS IF I NEVER EXISTED
    YET AFTER ALL THIS TIME
    I'M SHATTERED AND TWISTED
    HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE
FOR MY LOVE TO DIE OUT
    SHE WAS NO MISTAKE
    MY HEART HAS NO DOUBT
    ASIDE SHE HAS CAST ME
AS IF NO ONE SHE KNEW
    LOCKED OUT OF HER MIND
    WITHOUT EVEN A CLUE.
    THE NEW LOVE TAKES OVER
LEAVES THE OLD ONE TO ROT
    ITS HARD TO BELIEVE
    THE THINGS SHE FORGOT
    WHEN ALL YOUR LIFES MEANING
    GETS TIED IN A KNOT
TO ME THE WORLD WAS ALL THAT SHE MEANT
SO WHY DOES THIS PAIN IN MY HEART STILL TORMENT

This is a well written poem about a love lost. True love is hard to find, true love can make us feel blind. Be thankful in all things, if even while receiving a Pink Slip. A person can do us a favor, by some times, just leaving us behind. Then we can go on w/ life & find another love.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
