Possum.
Oh how memories can bring new forms of pain,
you once were an active part in my life, now your just a name,
so many years iv cycled through the same feelings for you,
so many years iv wasted time not doing the things iv wanted too,
i always thought if i tried hard enough i would get the best result,
all the times iv stumbled and crawled taking petty insults,
It was i who stayed by your side when things always got too tough,
it was i who dried your tears, always feeling it wasnt enough,
it was i who gave you your space to test the greener sides,
it was i who gave you patience as each night i sat alone and cried,
it was i who gave you options even when you gave me none,
it was i willing to stick my ground, even when you wanted to run,
i was never given an equal amount of love in return,
even though you've tried to say, you were the one burnt,
now that things are over and enough time has passed,
i can see it was i who learned a lesson while your continously repeating your past.
you once were an active part in my life, now your just a name,
so many years iv cycled through the same feelings for you,
so many years iv wasted time not doing the things iv wanted too,
i always thought if i tried hard enough i would get the best result,
all the times iv stumbled and crawled taking petty insults,
It was i who stayed by your side when things always got too tough,
it was i who dried your tears, always feeling it wasnt enough,
it was i who gave you your space to test the greener sides,
it was i who gave you patience as each night i sat alone and cried,
it was i who gave you options even when you gave me none,
it was i willing to stick my ground, even when you wanted to run,
i was never given an equal amount of love in return,
even though you've tried to say, you were the one burnt,
