    Sacrifice

    Jagged shadows on
    The edge of time.
    Waiting for something
    Or someone to climb.
    So weave me a dream,
    Streams of fire and ice.
So I won’t see the end
    Of this sacrifice.
    I can see the lies,
    Silver shadows of hate.
    That will grow and devour
    ‘til it’s much to late.
    Traces of heat,
    That lingered behind.
    Mem’ries of dances,
    We held in our minds.
And no one could see us,
    Or non that we knew.
    So now all we face,
    Is the judgment of two.

Some really powerful imagery here; a touch of angst nicely woven with insightful sobriety yields a nice overall flavor.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
