    Deception

    Who dreams of lust?
    Caught between heaven and hell.
    Close enough to touch
But to far away to tell.

    Trading glances of desire
    That never should be seen
Trying hard to hide the fire
    That keeps us in between.

    Supreme deception
    Building walls around our lies.
    Hoping that they’re soundproof
And can drown out our sighs

But how can this be wrong
    When there’s nothing being done
    Something just as dangerous
    As a loaded gun.

    Just knowing what could happen
    If something came of this
    How could this turn out
    For one shot at bliss

And then where would we be
Would I look into your eyes?
    And see the reflection
    Of someone you despise.

    Could I do without you,
Could I make it on my own?
    And would you even notice
    If I left you alone?

I think I’m in too deep
    But wanting to go deeper.
    Never really thought
    I’d consider you my keeper.

    And would these feelings stop?
If I got all that I need.
    Is it just the danger
    On which my hunger feeds?
