Poem Commentary

About a girl who was pulled apart by the cruelties and insecurities of the person she looked up to the very most for her happiness, faith and protection - her own father.

Sarah

Is this what you'd always done?
One bad moment then you're gone
All of the wasted time
I spent, trying to find
A heart in nothing but despair

Short of love, short of life inside your mind
All the reasons seem so wrong
Love on it's side, none too blame, none survived
Only praying for tomorrow

Oh, oh
Sarah

Was it good enough to end us,
Without the slightest hint of remorse?
All of your life, I swear I was there before
Watching all your scenes replaying

Oh no,
Oh, Sarah...

No light, no heart, no hope
All your dreams aligned with sad, demented lies
All it ever, seems to me, is such a waste____
The sins and questions
A heart and soul without a life...

Oh, oh

Sarah.

Sarah.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
