Mother

Mother

Oh, mother
Last time we spoke I was,
Somewhere else
Imaging where I'd be
A letter telling me
That you're gone
...

You're gone

Mother, all my life
You supported my bad, my worthless
Gave me strength where there was only pain
Replaced with memories
Now that you're gone

Oh, mother I am fragile
In the hands of change
I feel this weight is too hard to bear
I know how hard you tried
All the countless times I lied, and
Caused you only grief
You always found a way
To love me
And now it's all gone

Mother, I've been trying
Soon will be achieving
To love another, as I loved you
To be more attentive, to be more patient
To find some mercy in my mind

But in thoughts, and dreams you're still
Holding me so high
I feel no solace
In unsaid goodbyes

You're gone

You're gone

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
