Sister sister!

Sister sister!

Little sister, little sister.
Come quick and give me a hug.
Your little hands are still so soft
Like the first time you came out the door
I came up to you and said hi
You looked at me and smiled.
It was as if you already knew who I was.

Growing up in a broken home was no fun.
The fighting and the yelling
But now it's all gone.
I promise to give you the childhood I never had.
Mom is not here and dad is never there.
But I promise one day we'll all be together again.

Little sister you're growing up so fast
And the thought of me not being there
Makes me want to cry.
But I want you to know you've never left my heart.
And I think of your perky little smile all the time.

You who I love more that anything.
My little sister, my heart.
I hope my face hasn't been forgotten.
I hope you can still see my image in your mind.
And one day we'll laugh together again.
My little sister, my heart.

There wasn't much of a flow here...but the content certainly came from one that has lived. It made me wish I was a better older brother. Nice job.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
