Somber Day

Somber Day

We're here on the corner of Main and Nowhere,

Waiting for a bus, and sipping green tea,

The leaves are starting to turn,

Reflecting the mood,

Remember where we were?

Springs first blossum brought us smiles,

By summers end they had ran their course,

Teathered smiles our mile markers,

And 'memories arn't free'

Will you cross Main St. with me?

Our bus is running late, perhaps it past?

"I'm not sure, but I've got to get somewhere".

catharss, These time and place seemingly going nowhere fast poems always mesmerize me. Maybe its the mystery of it all. ginga

Very lovely. Its like the reader is viewing these thoughts from afar, with no connection to it. It gives the feeling of distance that I really like.

this intrigues me - there is a lack of passion - as though the missed bus (opportunity/relationship) is of no consequence. apathy indeed... still, it held my attention, and the feel of it is something most have experienced - good job capturing it. :)

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
