standing i remain

standing i remain

in the book of life im trapped on a lonely page

read and judged by all from such an early age

feelings crushed and pride  led astray

searching feverously for words but none am i able to say

but yet

standing i remain

slapped and pushsed violently thrown down

poeticaly i rise to stand my ground

visual to other eyes there is no pain

but inside emotion pours from the heart like falling rain

but yet

standing i remain

continuous attacks on my inner core

imposable journeys i must endure

all the while suppressing my growing rage

as i quietly act the role on lifes big stage

but yet

standing i remain

through all the conflict and battles i have been made to face

my animocity i have kept shrouded and encased

i have trained myself to adapt to the day

not to sucome to the ignorance that others play

for in the end when i am laid in the ground

on my stone these simple words shall be found

STANDING I REMAIN

thank you so much i am glad you can connect with my writing thank you again

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
