The Echo of God

The Echo of God

I listened for the sound
Of the answer yet unheard
For the vision of the night
Is seen by many.
I touched out to the sound
Flying on the breeze of Heaven
For the vision of the night
Is felt by many.
I see the light of the sound
Bending from sea to sea
For the vision of the night
Is blind by many.
I smell the sweetness of the sound
Of the scent on the horizon
For the vision of the night
Is smokey by many.
I lift my voice to Angels above
Asking for the Hand of God
To guide me through the trials
Of my desperation,
“God, Are you there ?”
For the vision of the night
Is the Echo of God created
In the breath of man.

This is really good. I like how you think. 10 from me

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
