    Poem Commentary

When reality meets with myths, it dawn on the concern and things being to take their real nature.

    THE MYTHS AND REALITY

    Imprisoned by the myths

    Myths-informed about all

    Things around that matter

    Of love and marriage

    The myth of perfectness

Widely spread and live among us

    Destroying and endangering our lives

    Setting up unrealistic expectations

Of impossible dreams and magic thinking

    Misinforming, misleading and disillusioning

    Deceiving us in its entirety

    Preparing us to walk away

    The moment our fantasy clashes

    Yes, meet with the reality

But the truth set free from the myths

Of the myth of viral love

    Insisting that love is caught

    Much like a virus

    Some enchanted evening

    When you happen to be

In the right place at the right time

    Soon, it zaps you

    Ending it all there

In a lifetime of unending bliss

The myth of the ‘right person’

Of the bone of my bone

The only one somewhere to come

Suggesting that on him or her alone

    Fulfillment of longed happiness

Aligning stars to get the one

    The Mr. and Mrs. Perfect

Making up romantic, excited and blissful life

The myth of the ‘full box’

Of the mind of total inheritance

    Of things self-replacing good things

    Unshakable un-interrupting blissful home

    Of accustomed satisfaction and life-style

    A continuous struggle to get

Another box once the old loose

    Power to give desired satisfaction

    Of the myth of ‘marriage-go-round’

    Of ho-on and off marriages

    When feeling and interest go

    Satisfaction and desired now drained

    Of unfulfilled selfish lustful gratification

    Making spouse disposable and replaceable

Dumped and going for better offer

Just replace it! Replace it quick!

    The next come, the next,

    The big unexpected trouble!

    In the whirlwind of life

    When we’re worn out

    Of taking many basic responsibility

    Of child-rearing and home keeping

    Then the virus subsidies

    Yes, romances vacates the stage

    And reality takes over

    Dawn on us all then

Confuse of what to do next

Of the mistake we have made

    Taking romance for true love

    Yet love does not die

    Because romance bows

Indeed bow for what we rare consider

    Yes, reality, reality of things
