    The Sun and The Moon

    Moon over Sun

I saw the moon in the sky today
it was quite unusual least to say.
The sun on one side and the moon on the other
tried to explain that to my 3 year old daughter.
Mama what is the moon doing out in the day
did it come out and want to play?
The sun hurts my eyes but the moon is soft
I like it when the moon is on top.
So do I , I told her in a whispers voice
I like the moon that's my choice.
It was a rare sight to see today
both the sun and moon coming out to play.
I hope to see it at least once again
So my granddaughter can show her kids.

Debbie: Very sweet and well done. thanks for sharing. Charles

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
