Poem Commentary

memories of my child hood

This old house

This old house it moans and groans
but it can tell one heck of a story
Cracking and creaking this old house stands tall
It has fought through the worst and best
But this old house still stands tall
Through the good times and the bad
And till death do us part
This house stands tall
We all played and had fun
The rain and the sun memories still stand
with that old house

If only houses could talk they would have some amazing stories

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
