    Poem Commentary

    This was a poem I wrote after dreaming about a friend I didn't know I had feelings for. Weird how that works huh? Nothing was ever said or shown to her, so this is my "secret poem".

    I had a dream about a love I’ve never felt
    Your touch within my sleep was the warmth my heart embraced
        Until the morn came to awake me and left me by myself
    I never thought that I would think of you in ever such a way
    Whenever you’re away I miss you, but not like this, on what was this day
    At night I felt so calm to feel you’re presence in my mind
    And I have wondered if I’m strong enough to pass the test of time
    You have been hurt and love is still present in your heart,
        For the one who was once your world
    And I’m just a man, a simple person, a solitary soul
    Who wants nothing more than to know the reason why you have affected my lobes
    Why your image is floating in my universe like the most important globe
    I have no answers to get past the emotions or the notion that you may well be the key
    To bringing happiness to sadness and company to my loneliness,
        Who has so long known misery
    If I could send my heart to you as a gift, you’ll see me with roses in hand and my life     within another to let you know that you are more than just a friend
    More than just a means to an end that can help me turn my life of sand
        Into a precious pearl
    But a soul that can save a soldier from the death of loss to finally reach his goal
    …LOVE

    I think this poem is lovely. Its nice to see a man that can express his feelings without feeling like a punk or sissy. Two thumbs up!
