    To Sit Awhile

To sit awhile, to ponder the day that has just passed, to stare into space and wonder why time moves so fast, to spend these moments in quiet somber, and wonder when our time will come to end.
To sit awhile, as memories race across our minds eye, memories of friends and loved ones and of all the great times that have gone by.
To sit awhile, and watch as the sun slowly disappears out of sight, and the skies grudgingly give up to the darkness of night

Your reflections meet my minds eye

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
