I lie in your arms in the early morning light
searching your eyes for an answer.
In their tender light I see reflections
of a crisp November dawn with unraked leaves
    shifting in the breeze,
    and the smoldering embers
of a night of passion spawned
by months of loneliness and aching loss.
Lowering my gaze from yours I catch
a glimpse of desire in the sparkle of your eyes
as you try to hold mine.
Dangerous, this desire that rekindles within
as you reach to touch my face.
I burn, my blood boiling, as your lips brush mine
    with your urgent kiss
    before moving hungrily to taste
    the rest of me
arms wrapped tight, straining me closer
    as if to devour
    or distract.
    Overcome with this desire,
    that is not unlike pain,
    I yield eagerly,
    questions unanswered.

I like the way this poem crescendoed. Such a contrast with the "November dawn with unraked leaves shifting" Excellent imagery. Good Poem. Thanks!
