    Wondering

Leaves rustle in the late summer wind
and the sun goes to sleep
as the crickets begin their lullabyes.

The evening sky is host to a few stars
that wink at each other in secrecy
and a sleepy moon nods in agreement.

    Lovers stroll along shadowed walks
through gardens filled with the heady scent
of late-blooming roses mixed with lingering summer's heat.

Alone I stand, unseeing eyes staring
as a soft rain begins to fall, wondering
what happened to my life, and if you were ever mine.

Very lovely ..I was walking there with you with each word and image. Gentle, Gentle, Gentle, subtle yet fulling aware as nature reaches out to embrace a lonely soul. Soft, gentle, and Embracing, is what I am mostly left holding. Though I admit I'm a sucker for a happy ending.. Yet very honest and human accurate expression of such moments in the times of our lives. Thanks you Pypersong...really captivating throughout.

I have to agree with my friend Soulwriter, you do have a soft spirit.I love that in a poet.My favorite part was the intro.I liked the disciptive imagery you laid out right from the go,I loved I could feel it and was there with you.Beautiful work!

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
