Wedding Vows

Wedding Vows

my promises
are written in stone
but stones can be
worn down,
just like me

we'll cherish what we have
grateful that we're faithful
those vows we'll keep
with undying love,
til we fall asleep

the dreams we've dreamed
will all come true
there's no need for hoping
unless one of us,
becomes broken

disposable I suppose
like so many things
this seems to be the way
so can we mean everything,
that we said that day?

'cause nothing's forever
even diamond rings...
for diamonds too
get lost—as lost as,
me and you

So well put and crafted it makes me ashamed of some of my writing Lionhearted! I especially like the part where you said the dreams weve dreamed will all come true, sometimes those dreams arent so good for me but in the end what arises from them is good. Keep being so inspirational.

Thank God I'm not lost!!! So my vows will be kept and safe and I will know where they are at all times. Man, confusion is a bummer.

Thank God for you, jt!! :-)

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
