    Whispers of the Heart

    Take a chance, it whispers
    Luring with a sigh
But I have seen this path before
    It’s potholes full of lies

    Still I listen carefully
    Measuring with care
    How I need your promises,
    The danger in their snare

    Star swept nights of magic
One step forward, one step back
    Confusion, joy and fear
    No safety on this track

    Would I believe again?
    If I didn’t know
    How the heart can break,
    Going where fools go?

    Still there is that whisper
I might trust this foolish heart
    There’s something in that whisper
That had me from the start

I think this is a beautiful poem-cynical and hopeful -I like it.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
