With These Wings

A creature lies dormant, wondrously majestic, ready and still...

waiting upon awakening, at the still, small utterance of His will.

Strength unseen, beauty untold, highest ranks of heaven’s artillery...

Mortal flesh cloaks imminent truth of heaven’s inevitable victory.

Finite earthly wisdom amongst the throngs caught in the fight...

unaware that the bloody battle fought is truly for hearts & minds.

Warning signs swarm like plagues amongst quiet whispers in the air...

alluding to principalities & powers unavoidable demise and despair.

Walking amongst the crowds unknowing, with twisted empathy wrought...

discernable signs falling on deaf ears, deceived by hell’s sweet, perilous taunt.

War of the highest stakes fought on deaths’ bloody, mortal battlefields unseen...

Heaven sent defenders lying in wait, quietly observing corruption careen.

Angel checkmates here, demon counter moves there, time silently aids strategy...

unwittingly making old history…fulfilling predestined, unfulfilled prophecy.

Standing in the face of the enemy; a cunning lion that seeks to destroy & devour...

roaring ugly arrogance & entitlement, spewing deceitful lies & unfounded power.

Contempt for truth rages against soft feathered touch of a fierce angels decree…

” With these wings…I shall humbly battle for the hearts & minds of all humanity.”

A different type of dark, with inspiration and hope at the end... Really enjoyed from you, Mary

This should be in some type of Biblical volume........one can feel the harshness, and yet the gentleness of the combatants.........

Now THAT...is a hair raising compliment...lol. I'm not sure I want such monumental responsibility for influencing the masses...lol. Thank you, gogant....wow.

That's pretty cool. It had a different kind of flow but a readable one to be sure. This was not the knid of dark that I was expecting when I stumbled upon it. The ending gave way to light and hope and all that... A well thought out poem that was enjoyable. A.T.

Thank you so much! If you're looking for a bit darker, some of my other work may suit your taste.

I came, I read, you conquered! Descipt machinations at work and living in your telling of eternal truth--I think I would have written of this glory and battle, but you have carved a work of art in poetic refinements, so much greater. I am so glad to have been blessed by your wonderful mind's offering! God bless you!! Applause Crescendo!!!

Mars, you are much too generous! I can appreciate your outrageous compliment only in light of knowing that YOU know where all credit is due, my friend! Thank you for such amazing confidence and encouragement!

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
