    A New Light

    I feel so alone
    In this crowded room
    There's a feeling of dread
    And of eminent doom
When you're not by my side
    I feel scared and alone
    But when we're together
    I feel so at home
    Somehow you've helped
    To bring a new light
    Into this dark
    And hopeless life
    You've shown me what life
    Can truly mean
    You've taught me to love
    And how to be free
    The light in your eyes
Puts a new hope in me
    Your vibrant smile
    Has helped me to see
    That there can be joy
    I'm no longer confined
    I can be set free
    I'm no longer in chains

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
