Abandon

Abandon

I throw my life blindly
Into Your hands
Abandoning all for you
My Savior, my God
My Redeemer, my friend
You've kept me alive through the worst of my sins
You've taught me that You
Are the One I can trust
The One I can give myself to
From the pain to the shame
Of deperately wishing
That the pain would subside with a knife
You've taken away all the sorrow and grief
And replaced it with love, hope and joy
You've shown me that You
Will always be there
To provide me with all that I need
I now know that You are so much more
Not just my Creator;
My Savior, my friend

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
