    A newer better me

    Every day I’m building
    A newer, better me
    Forming scattered pieces
    Into someone yet to be
Who I am, that is the question
    An answer yet unfound
    Yet layer after layer
I run that truth to ground
Do we ever really find them
    The people that we are?
Or do they lie beyond our reach
    Like the glowing distant stars
I want to know that person
    That lives inside my dreams
The one that has the truths
The one that holds the keys
    So every day I’m building
    That newer better me
I only hope that when I’m finished
I like the me I see..

To know thyself, is truly a great accomplishment. For some a blessing, for others a curse- lol.... Beautiful poem. 10 from me.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
