The mask

The mask

I'm no longer wearing
the mask anymore
I'm casting it off
this time it's for sure
I'm tired of being
who they want me to be
tired of seeing
the facade that is me
I've been lost in myself
for far far too long
I'm tired of dancing
to normalites song
I'm different, strange
twisted at best
I'm accepting these things
and to hell with the rest.
The mask is now gone
get ready to see
the truth, the darkness
the reality of me

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
