    Beautifully Numb

I’ve gone beautifully numb in order to forget you
But these memories I can only hold onto
There is this song of my soul
That I’ve tried to write over and over again
This numbness takes apart of me
Forcing me to think of him
I’m begin for you to help me
To turn me around and make me see
All of my mistakes they’ve led me to you
To let me know how much I care about you
This beautiful numbness has taken its toll on me a few times or more
I’ll do all the things I’ve done before
I’ll sulk in my room and fight back these tears
I wont listen to our song and fall to my fears
I let my heart fall right into your hands
You clinched your fists and crushed all my plans
This beautiful numbness wrapped itself around my broken heart and wont let go
It’ll eat me alive and you’ll never know
I’ve gone beautifully numb because of you
I try to forget but all I do is think about you

Damn how old are you again cuz these are words of a woman that has experienced life and have fallen victim to love that was unreturned or even lead astray.. Beautiful expression of pain and saddness of love lost.. I have been there it as if you have seen into my heart when it was broken.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
