    The Shock

Something happened, it took me by surprise
Your lovely face you took off that disguise
Trembling hands, tears flowed from my eyes
Look up at you, I throw away the lies

Out comes the truth, that the small things are gone
I’m sorry I always told you nothing was wrong
Staring at you, the empty silence stood to long
I walk away, and then you were playing my song

You said you’d try to bring the small things back to me
You proved that so soon then I could see
That me and you were meant to be
The fact that you’re trying show I’m what you need

I mention the hole; you look at me in shock
I try to glance away but our eyes are locked
Surely you can hear it, my heart ticking like a clock
I was scared of your words I though you would mock

But something happened, it took me by surprise
Your lips were on mine before it was realized
Your words came out, all my sadness dies
I begged before, now you didn’t make your words a lie

I stare in your eyes and the truth shines
In that moment I knew forever you’d be mine

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
