    Mourning Would

Mourning would come all too fast
My love next to me, his sleeping lasts
I stare at him; fresh tears come to my eyes
    That nightmare his hatred undisguised
    My weeping awakens him
Baby, I had that dream again
His arms wrap around me as he says those words
I repeat them, he knows I heard
Will you lay with me when mourning comes and again the dream follows?
Hold me tight, as I wonder if it will be there tomorrow?
I want you forever, to lie in my arms
I want you forever, to show me your charms
My love, Nathaniel, mourning would come with tears in my eyes
That dream your rejection clearly undisguised
The dead silence while you’re sleeping lasts
My eyes are wet, my mourning came fast

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
