    Seeing Blind

I’m still trying to find out what this is taking over me
Hidden so deeply I wasn’t able to see
The truth laid out before my eyes
I am blind by this disguise
    His face illuminates everything around
Causing my knees to cave into the ground
My heart beats faster yet it comes to a stop
Abrupt enough to make it drop
Tender touch, your fingers trace my spine
Today I seem to have lost my sense of time
    It’s taking over me
This thing, its name I’m blind to see
This painful truth is laid before my eyes
I can’t be blinded by this disguise
Take me to that place where all my sins are lost
Take it all don’t mind the cost
    My choice is yours
    I’ll listen to your words
    In this cold winter night
Please be there I’ll hold you tight
I need to know what is taking over me
Help me; stop me from being so blind to see

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
