Blume (Flower)

Blume (Flower)

Sitting here thinking,

I collect memories of pictures in my life.

Suddenly thoughts of a dream

Empowered by a man of indulgence.

Love, honor and respectfulness.

This man, I do love.

Without consciously knowing you

I was born to you

An image of your seed.

I became a flower

A flower of your life.

This dream continues with words

that cannot redeem the worthiness of their meaning.

This man in my dream was a man that taught

me all I know.

I respect this man with all honesty.

Unconditionally he loved me,

My flesh resembles his life

Wrapped like a present to be admired,

The day I was born.

In my dream I am holding your hand

With endless miles between us

Your hand I cannot let go.

For it’s this man’s strength that allows me to choose my way.

His dignity that represents my free spirit.

His intelligence that gives me power.

A heart of gold this man has,

He sacrificed his last penny,

Just for me.

“For whom am I?”  I asked this man.

I’m like a wild flower

Not yet in bloom

Being held by the wind,

that always passes by.

I’m given strength from its existence

And comfort by its reason.

I’m like the sunflower

Yearning for the sun,

Yet praising for the rain.

Loved by this man,

I know that I am.

For the way he held my hand.

I knew why he was the wind.

I awake from my dream,

My tears dampen my pictures

Of happiness.

For what you’ve done for me

I shall do for you, father.

For you are the man in my dream.

I cherished every living moment, everyday that I had with you.

For now that you are gone from this world,

I know you are now my guardian angel,

And I wait to see you once again.

I thank God for you, father.

And will always remember you.

For this poem is my dedication to you,

Words cannot express, daddy what you will always mean to me

and what your life has given to mine.

I am and forever will be your blume (flower).

The valedictory affirmation of a dedicated poem to one's Fathe cannot be addded to by compliment, nor detracted by faint praise. What comes through with stellar brilliance is your forever filial devotion. In a sense when he became absent, is when the truth of his life-long presence became real to you. Kudos. Harv

Thank you so much for your words. It means a lot to hear what people comment on especially with that particular poem. :-)

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
