Poem Commentary

Another one from my old files

Calm

The rustling sound in the midnight breeze;
that stirs the movement of trees and leaves.

The sound from the midnight owl;
hooting into the dark, for he's on the prowl.

The way the sun feels upon my skin;
removes the chill, makes me whole again.

The sound of children laughing and playing;
and watching them running and chasing.

The comforting sound from the unsteady motion;
made by the waves of the salty blue ocean.

The alluring smell of a long, hard rain;
and the soothing way it feels my face.

Conversations with dear, old friends;
the timeless passing, you hope never ends.

Making my daughter feel good about her grace;
when I wipe the tears away, from her face.

But of these things my most favorite of all;
my daughter saying that I'm the best daddy of all!

Children bring such happiness to our world.Even the thought of the ones that could have been but were taken before they could even speak a word or cry their first cry.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.

Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
