The oceans and seas

The oceans and seas

The oceans and seas, from shallow to deep,
to some brought life and some eternal sleep.
When they are calm, ships sail long and true,
when they storm, ships sink into the blue.
From the creatures of speed, to the creatures that creep,
they hold many secrets, the secrets they keep.
The oceans and seas, hold the wonders of the deep.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
