    Poem Commentary

    Written July 8, 2006

    Colorless

    Dipped in bleach
    Soaked and burnt to unrecognizable
    Clothed in a sheet of:
    "Who am I?"
    "Where did I come from?"

    Cuts and engravings,
    Ties and cords;
    Lord, let me bleed til
    I'm colorless.

    Let me cry like the rain
    Til I'm dry.
    Let me scream like a thunder storm;
    Let me dance like my soul is silent.

    I hang like overcast,
    Hazy, dark,
    Unclear and dissatisfied.
    Where's the sun, Lord God?
    Where's my shadow?

    Pull me out from my hiding place.
    In the freezing cold,
    In the darkness
    Bind me til I'm empty
    Of all my disgrace.
    Free me of my shame.
    Let me bleed, Lord God
    Til I'm colorless!

    I could feel the emotions in this one very well written

    The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

    Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
