    Poem Commentary

    Written June 3, 2005

    Flaws

    Knots tightening and muscles shake.
And the rumble in my stomach,
    It doesn't seem to fade.
    Sounds and signs
    That clearly define
    Your presence
    In my personal space.
    A reminder that first impressions
Aren't the ones to go by.

    "Who are you?"
    I used to ask myself.
    Then I got the truth,
    And hope for someone else.
But GOD! That smile so sweet!
    Saftey I've been yearning for!
    Then look at me.
    Eye's I'd dare to explore,
    Yet one little quality
    Sends that precious fantasy
    Buring to the ground.
    Ashes in my hand
    Are now a memory.
    And a wish
    For a lifetime
    Where we're meant to be.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
