    Dilemma

I know I’m the biggest loser.
    I trip, I fall, and I speak
    Without being spoken to.
    I know that I don’t
    Fit in where you belong.
So I know I couldn’t belong to you.

No, you’re not worth an internal change.
    I won’t change what’s mine so that
    I can be yours.
But I could be yours if you didn’t see me
    As who I am.

Everyone says you’re mediocre at best
But I can’t see past it, you’re beautiful
And I could be yours if I wasn’t me
But just as you are I would make you mine
So why can’t you want me just as I am?

    tight poem i like it

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
