Poem Commentary

This is for anyone who has had to deal with desperate calls from exes that just don't know when to let go!

Desperation's call

Who exactly do you think I am
A porcelain doll you can place on a stand
A precious prize to be admired from afar
Who the hell do you think you are
You proclaim love and possession of me without pause
Yet turn your back without justification or cause
You want a servant by day a play toy by night
I think your obsession with me has blurred your sight
We shared love once long ago, by you it has been tainted and made it impure
You lost what we had a mistake I'm sure, the day that I found you with her
Oh stop your crying and get off of your knees
I am blind to your begging and deaf to your pleas
You weren't thinking of me when you looked her way
I'm not angry, just done and there is no more to say
Yes I know there is innocence involved in this fight
Tell me were you thinking of them when you held her tight
You want to be a man, good step up to the plate
but as for me and you I'm afraid your to late
Oh there he is Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde
now I'm seeing the other side
Call me a bitch! whats that? a whore you say
you always act childish when you don't get your way
Oh...Your sorry again you didn't mean a word
This fixation you have is really quite absurd
Go away I say I'm done with you
we are safe and happy with someone new
My heart mended and I am whole again at last
let me fade into a memory found deep in your past
It's two a.m. stop calling my phone
You know I am in bed and not sleeping alone
The papers are final the divorce has gone through
your free to be happy with somebody new
No you can't change my mind and yes I have a heart
you made your choices and our ways had to part
I'm getting bored so if there is nothing new......
What? No he's not jealous he knows it's only you
Oh my god that is her voice in the background, you really are a piece of work
You better go she is crying and now calling you a jerk
I was annoyed at first but now I thank you for this call
You really aren't worth it and I am not sorry at all!

Hahah I like the whole attitiude of this piece. Giving no inch. They know what they did, they can own up to it. Calling them out from every angle. We reap what we sow to the full extent. :)

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
