Distrust

I don’t know who to trust
its no surprise
you are as cancerous as rust
i cant deal with any more lies

its killing me, this deceit
how can you look someone in the face and lie
not slipping up is quite a feat
i never took you for being wry

I would forgive you
just come clean
just say what is true
we can do this without making a scene

you can be quite devious
were you trying to victimize
did you do this to your previous
or did you just improvise

give it up
confess
a little awkward, join the club
we can still fix this mess

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
