ENOLA

Enola

Enola was there before and after the storm

She was there during the loss of a child unborn

Never a doubt in my mind I knew that she cared

When my world was shaken after my Mom was taken she was there

So close to me sometimes it was her that I feared

Whether I needed her or not she was always near

She would listen better than anyone I knew

When I didn’t want to be bothered Enola still came through

She would watch me in the mirror as I looked into my eyes

She would cry with me when the tears began to rise

Enola gave me a feeling that no one else could

So loyal she would follow me when no one else would

When one of my closest thought his trust had been burned

My heart drifted far from that place that I earned but that’s when I learned

When love didn’t last and I longed for the Stars

Enola said no don’t, you’ve come to far and that's not who you are

Enola made me think but she also made me drink

To all my moments of self-awareness she was a direct link

She was everywhere I was but I don’t think it was luck

Even during the worse moments in my life I think she loved me to much

She said keep living like your living and I’ll never leave

I wasn’t sure that was the way that I wanted it to be

I was seeing to much of her to often and I wanted to be on my own

When I told her, Enola flipped on me as I stood there

Alone

Enola backwards is Alone.......The last line in the poem gave you the hint. Enola flipped as I stood there Alone. Enola was and is that feeling of loneliness ...

this is my first reading your work. very good. the flow was great. i'm going to read more. excellent work.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
