    His and Hers

His shoulders, they are weakened, his bones of fragile frame
His eyes have seen the past of a world, that will never be the same

Her hands as soft as ever, her heart as pure as gold
Her eyes remain as blue as the sea Of stories she has told

Regret is not amongst them, their paths long intertwined
Their problems all forgotten, their pains all left behind

Fifty years of compromise, through fifty years of love
Times of trials to which they've offered, the almighty up above

In all this time he's bore the weight, of her sorrows on his shoulder
Never mistaking, never forsaking, the vows that he so told her

That he can look upon her and she look up to him
The same way they did yesterday, makes nothing seem too grim

They walk along the beach together, leaving footprints in the sand
She's glowing in the moment, their walking hand and hand

In an instance there's a snap, a sudden chill and he feels cold
He opens his eyes to an empty bed, a dream of her will never grow old

But all his tears come forth at once, the cold air grips him once again
The time is knocking at his door, and in his sadness he gives in

Along the path the millions gather, to welcome him to stay
Beyond the pearly gates, the angels sing and trumpets play

He finds himself amidst assembly, of angels gathered round
They sit in silence, no one ushers a solitary sound

All a sudden, out of nowhere a red carpet has been thrown
And from the silence trumpets site an all familiar tone

The bridal chorus fills the air in ways he'd never heard
The church still gathered round, still no one says a single word

He stands upon an altar over shadowed by his grace
His presence is united with an all familiar face

His hands they are now steady, his shoulders nice and strong
His ears are filled with notes, throughout the beauty of the song

Her hands are soft as ever, her heart as pure as gold
Her eyes remain as gorgeous, as they were in times grown old.

Absolutely Brillant! Nothing else could be said about it. Beautiful title, great flow just a great usage of words and imagination!

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
