    Hooda

Hooda always did well in school,
    a good girl, a mother’s delight.
Then a bomb blast from Israel,
    crudely took her sight.

If I could say one thing to Hooda
    to help her through despair,
“God will be your eyes for you,
For the angels in his care.”

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
