    Sept 2004 – Mumbai Maharashtra

    Cliffs.
    High above the pastoral valley,
one can view the world below.
Like a small child looking feverishly into a puddle of water,
I sit close to the cliff’s edge.
    The trees and vegetation,
like spots of green paint on a watercolor canvas.
    Waterfalls and faint lines
form impressions of roads that run through the valley.
Rainbows bounce off the water’s edge.

    I close my eyes.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
