    Trick

I made a promise to myself
That I will dare not shed a tear.
Why mourn the loss of someone loved
    When he was never there.

He existed only in my mind,
    He walked like summer rain,
And he would reappear at night
When the moon came out again.

But I buried him long back, you see
I buried him in a dream.
At times he’s still heard laughing,
    How the mind plays trickery.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
