I Can Become

I Can Become

I will walk away, not look back
And go quietly into the night.
I will fight the tears, stand tall
And pray to see the light.
I will bear the pain, wear a smile
And make it through the day.
I will heal my soul, find peace again
And hope to learn the way.
I will find my heart, take it back
And dream of love to come.
I will spread my wings, fly again
And know I can become.

This deserves a wider read. Determination is the better part of self-determination. You have voiced volumes in just a smattering of syllables!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
